I’m Mike Miller.  Laura’s my better half.

Just like my father, I have been woodworking as a way to relax.

My Dad, Bernie, created “Woods of the World” featuring clocks, ashtrays, lamps and various other items that he hoped to sell.  Unfortunately, my Dad passed away in his prime before he was ever able to see his work sold.

Determined to honor my Dad and to have a creative outlet, I’ve joined Laura in her creative business by starting “Timber & Trade”.    This endeavor is where I’ll showcase my woodworking, carving and passion for antique/vintage maps…and whatever else I find interesting.

I always prefer to use reclaimed or wood with a heritage as a nod to the past and the environment. The wood I usually use has interesting graining, knots, holes, coloring…naturally beautiful.

All the wood I use is from the amazing Great Lakes region of the country.  Although I like functional items I also have a number of decorative items with a rustic, relaxed feel.
