Choosing joy is actively seeking happiness in what is difficult. It can be hard to do but if your re-frame what’s going on in your life you may see the lessons, blessings and beauty in it all. It also takes practice to “choose joy”. You can start with the lesser stressors in life and give re-framing a go.
What is re-framing? It’s taking a situation or thought and putting a positive spin on it…looking on the bright side..turning lemons into lemonade (you get the idea). It might take some time to get to the point where you can even think that something positive can come out of a situation. I know it took me some time before I could get perspective on my particular situation.
Yes, I found out I had kidney cancer after donating a kidney to my brother buuuuuut…it made me re-evaluate my life and make positive changes. I would have never pursued my art had it not happened the way it did.
