I hiked the Clifton Gorge in Yellow Springs, Ohio and loved the lush green of the gorge. The Little Miami River flows through the state park into the adjacent John Bryan State park. As you hike along, you can hear the distant roar of the water flowing in the upper gorge area…the rest is fairly peaceful.
The area in the gorge called the Blue Hole was the inspiration for the Blue Hole, Little Miami River painting by the artist, Robert Duncanson. This artist was self taught and painted in the Hudson River style.
I love how he used nature and the outdoors for his inspiration. This is the Blue Hole area today.
