I have been struggling with pen, marker and pencil storage for some time. After spending a half hour looking for a “certain” marker I decided enough was enough…and I created this storage unit.
I searched online to see what others have done and found tutorials on using lengths of downspout gutters. So I went to Lowe’s to buy a long section of gutter when I found these pre-cut downspout connectors. They are perfect! NO CUTTING. NO MEASURING.
All I needed to do was to stack them inside a container. I used 2 plastic storage containers I had that were missing the lids (of course, missing lids, ugh!). The downspouts make perfect “cells” so that you can easily sort and find all your pens. I like that I can infinitely expand the number of cells and quickly reorganize them.
In a short time I had all my supplies organized!
