These baskets were found during my thrifting adventures collected over the past year. I like that they are natural color but decided to up cycle them with some colorful handmade tassels.
I made the tassels from a stash of embroidery thread I had accumulated. I cut two pieces of thread the length of the skein to tie the center of the tassel and one to tie around the tassel. I simply folded the skein in half and cut the fold. Then I folded again to make it a fuller tassel. I tied it in the center and then around the upper portion of the tassel. Trim any excess thread.
Tying to the basket was easy to do and within less than an hour I had a set of different baskets that looked like they belong together because of the tassels.
